Panasonic Image App App Reviews

Faint Praise

It works, but its ugly and awkward. Figuring out how to do a particular thing is tough.

Suggestion for Panasonic

The app works brilliantly. It seems the only reviews are from people who cant figure it out. But Panasonic if you read this I have a suggestion that would make it six out five stars. Please could you make the up volume button of the connected device control the shutter release. The shutter release needs a tactile feel so the photographer can be looking at the subject and not the device. Doing so now makes it hard to find the shutter release button your finger cant feel it on the screen. Please and thank you.

Full screen not available

This app will be better if it feature full screen

Functional app but...

Lack of Polish language? shame.

Dont work on iPhone 6

Cant use this app on iPhone 6.

poor UX & UI

It works fine and it’s very very useful (e.g. for larger previews of photos). Unfortunately user experience is really poor. Need a lot of improvements. Anyway I like that it exists at all :).

add fullscreen

i am really lacking fullscreen mode - to use ipad as external monitor. current live view size is really small. Thank you

More optimizations

Hello Please, can you optimize this program for the iPhone 6+ screen? And russian translations too, there are too many words had been cutted. Also, I would be really glad, if you add an option to remove in-app notifications like notification about default password in cameras wifi. Thank you! P.S It will be great, if you make an iOS 9 style icon for this program

Fantastiche fotocamere e fantastica App!

Last version does not work with gh4 firm 2.5

Impossible to connect directly with a gh4 firm 2.5. Fix it!

They deleted my other review

This is the second review I leave. Looks like they deleted my other one. The Ap used to work great and now since they updated it I cant get it to connect to my iPhone 6. Tried my old iPhone too and it didnt work either. Having the ability to send images right to my phone was one of the main reasons I got this camera.

Needs full screen view in HD

Full screen viewer in HD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello make it useful !!!! ------ If this app had full screen in HD and a few small features to control the camera from the app ... I would give it a possible 5 star.

Needs full screen

Decent app but a must have feature is full screen. Would be perfect for gimbal monitor. Shame... Please update!

Junky and Glitchy

This app feels like it was made for MS-DOS. It looks antiquated, functions poorly and runs slow. It connects at best, one out of every three times, no matter how close it is to the router or how many pictures you are sending. Its loaded with worthless features (QR codes? Why?) and an awkward interface. Its best to just avoid the frustration and plug the camera directly into your computer.

PLEASE GPS in BACKGROUND!!!!!!!

I need this app for Geotagging with a Lumix ZS50. I don’t shoot remotely, this is a point and shoot and I am using this app as a workaround for the lack of GPS in the camera. The support notes fine print says that location tracking stops if you hit the home or close buttons. I am willing to accept a little battery hit for this thing to be active in the background—to protect some users, you could add an option to allow this with the caveat that phone battery life is going to deplete rapidly. But, this is a consequence of the lazy choice of camera vendors, to outsource location tracking to phone apps instead of including the functionality into the phone. what’s worse, running out of iPhone battery, or running out of camera battery (which can be mitigated with spare batteries)? So TL;DR version - this app is adequate, I only use it for adding GPS to my photos, but be aware that it only functions when open. I do not know if it keeps working once the phone screen turns off. But be aware, even if you mess up (like I did on a recent trip), you still generally get in the ballpark if you’re running this app once or twice a day. but as it is, it is suboptimal. Seems to work ok in iOS9 also.

Useless for transfers if you shoot raw

I am Currently on a tour of Japan shooting with a dmc-fx1000. At night I transfer the best photos to my iPad to show members of the group. On Sonys playmemories with my rx-100iv which i also use I select the photos I wish to transfer on my iPad screen. Works like a charm. Panasonics app requires you to select the photos on the camera screen. They are so small it is impossible to select the good ones. Even worse you spend 10 minutes selecting them and then the transfer fails as for some reason it wont transfer raw. Sonys app transfers raw with no problem. it may convert to JPEG but I dont care as I just want to display them. There is no way that I know to tell which of the hundreds of photos are raw. So this application is just about useless.

"Fixed Issues" = V-Log removal

The app itself has a horrible UI. Its buggy. Lots of room for improvement. Distaste for the ambiguous "Fixed Issues" update. Its unfortunate Panasonic cannot be forthcoming about what the "bugs" were.

Why buy a camera with Wi-Fi if you cant use it?

Anyone who knows what theyre doing shoots RAW format, yet for some dumb reason you cant transfer those from the camera. Sony and other manufacturers dont have this limitation. What a load of crap!

Good idea, very poor execution

This app is a great idea, but as other reviewers have pointed out, it has a confusing connection process, is not ideal for looking through images quickly, and may or may not correctly tag gps locations to photos. I suggest a third party geotagging solution and transferring photos "old school" using a computer instead. Not worth the fight and uncertainty.

Dont Update!!!

Dont update this app if you want to activate the v-log L profile in your GH4 (provided you have version 2.3 of the firmware). For some insane reason that Panasonic refuses to explain, the $100 license codes to properly activate v-log must be SHIPPED through the mail and are back-ordered until God-knows-when, despite being a freaking SERIAL CODE. This is 2015 Panasonic. Ridiculous.
